Experienced Legal Counsel

Attorney Trachelle C. Young, have over 25 years of legal experience, including as a proud Airborne, US Army Veteran (former JAGC Officer), former City of Flint Chief Prosecutor and former Genesee County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.  My family has resided in Genesee County for over 20 years and all three of my children are graduates of the Genesee County School System that went on to further their education. I attended Jackson State University in Jackson, MS on a violin scholarship and graduated from MSU law school.

Currently, I serve in the following capacities:

• ·      President of the CCKeys National Historical and Educational Society for past 6 years;

• ·      President and Founder of the non-profit mentoring organization, Sisters Seeking Success (SSS), for past 6 years;

• ·      Board member at The New Standard Charter School for past 6 years;

• ·      Membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for past 24 years;

• ·      Membership in Mallory, Van Dyne & Scott Bar Association (the Black Bar) in Genesee County speaking throughout the city to high school students to educate and empower them regarding the law for past 17 years;

• ·      Chair of the Vermont Christian Church Board of Directors and lifelong member

• ·      Chief Corporate Counsel to Hamilton Community Health Network for past 10 years helping to ensure the underserved, uninsured and homeless have access to comprehensive and quality healthcare

• ·      Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Flint Chapter for many years

I support  economic opportunities and empowerment for youth by funding a summer internship for Flint area law students creating opportunities for them to remain in this area (no law school in Flint), meet others in the legal profession and work on real life cases, as well as help address matters on the north end of Flint while being compensated.
